Learning That Lasts: Driving Behavior Change Through Co-Creation
THE CHALLENGE
A food & beverage company invested in building business analysis skills across the entire marketing organization. But after a year, leadership noticed that the discipline had not really taken root. The tools were there, but adoption was low and the impact was limited. The gap identified was that the senior managers themselves were not practicing the tools and/or didn’t have the capability to coach their direct reports in the use of the tools.

What we did
Acumen designed a highly interactive Business Analysis Leaders’ Enablement Program. We:
- Reviewed business analysis concepts and tools to train the managers to be able to apply these in their regular business reviews and conversations with their team members.
- Co-created using participants’ inputs a Business Analysis Toolkit - a practical reference guide for managers on the key BA concepts and tools as well as questions they can ask their team members to enhance the way members analyze their business issues and identify corrective actions.
- Fostered a culture of common language within the company on the KPIs and drivers of performance.
Impact
Client reported that there has been improvement in the quality of business reviews as a result of embedding Business Analysis discipline in the Marketing team’s way of working. The focus on strengthening the capability of managers to drive the discipline helped in the behavior change across the organization.
