THE CHALLENGE
In 2018, JG Summit faced a pivotal transition under new leadership. To sustain its 60-year legacy, the conglomerate needed to re-articulate its Purpose and Ambition, evolve its governance, and align all business units under a unified long-term direction.

What we did
Acumen led a 24-month transformation effort that:
- Defined a clear Purpose, long-term mission, and set of values that honored the group’s roots while future-proofing the organization
- Designed and embedded a strategic planning process across business units
- Consolidated these plans into a unified parent company strategy blueprint
Impact
The engagement kickstarted Gokongwei Group’s transformation. The resulting Purpose, Values, and Ambition (PVA) document, governance model, and strategy process remain in use today—providing a clear, enduring compass for leadership decisions and business direction across the conglomerate.
